Dear sir, I am new to Mumbai and stay with my elder brother in a rented apartment in Goregaon (E). I was approached by a representative of Airtel claiming to give a corporate offer on Airtel Sim. I was asked to pay Rs.99. I did so with a cheque payment favouring AIRTEL. The agent also filled a Customer relationship form on my behalf and I provided my Pan card copy and also a copy of my credit card. The pin numbers were kept hidden. I was repeatedly told by the agent that the credit card would only be used for verification purposes. I have not activated the Sim either But on checking my statement in the month of November I found that an amount of Rs. 89 was debited from my card as charges. I was shocked because I was not informed about the transaction from either Airtel or HDFC. The bank told me that I had opted for SI (Standard Instruction) and hence Airtel had the right to take the money from my card. Actually the option was selected by the agent, without my consent I checked the fineprints of the CR (Customer Relationship Form) and no explanation is provided for SI (Standard Instruction). The form being a legal document the abreviations are supposed to be expanded and explained which is clearly left out in the form. Now how do I go about this ? The agent has clearly misled me by lying to me that the card will not be used and again speaking to me bluntly and saying that I wont be able to take any action against him. Also Airtel have not provided the details in fine prints as to what SI means. I want to cancel the SIM for which they are asking for a refundable deposit of Rs. 500 . I am in a fix right now.

Unsolved and would like to get a quick solution.
 
6. Solution desired:
Refund of Rs.89 paid because I had not activated the Sim and the fineprints did not give the meaning of SI. Action against the agent for giving the wrong information
 
7. Help needed: Can action be taken against Airtel and thje agent ? Please provide me with the procedures to go about it? Also if possible kindly get me in touch with qualified people who can deal with such issues
 
C: My Suggestions
1. For the organisation: Please see to it that the Agents who are directly or indirectly involved with the firm provide truthful information to the people that they deal with. Please provide us a platform where we are able to raise our grievances. Kindly take action against agent who mislead the customers.
 
2. For the public:  Please be careful when each and every details of the form are filled. Also do not provide a copy of your credit card under any circumstances.
 
3. For government: I have no suggestions
