Forwarding the letter with details................ To, Shri. B.R.Marathe Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Zone 5, Ghatkopar east, Mumbai400 075. SUB: ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTIONS PROMOTED & SPONSORED BY YOUR STAFF AT TAGORE NAGAR 7 HARIYALLI VILLAGE AT VIKROLI IN "S" WARD. Sir, Recently complaints of illegal constructions at Hariyalli village and Togore Nagar area at Vikhroli east came up as mushrooms and after receiving several complaints thought it wise to talk to officials concerned. After visiting several sites and places where illegal alterations and additions were brought up at Group No, two, three, four, six and eight and Hariyalli village I was given to understand that the Officials from S ward office specifically from Building and Factory Department collected Rs.30 to 40 thousand each for allowing illegal constructions at various places. One Mr. Bhatia and another Mr. Sadhwani were alleged to be indulged in these illegal constructions. After making discreet enquiries I have learnt that a few contractors having good relations with these two officials manage entire illegal deals and collect the money to be paid to your staff as well as the police. The names of these contractors are given as Mohammed Yunus Contractor, Sanjay Parab Contractor, Asif Siddiqui Contractor and Shakeel Contractor. These four contractors have changed entire Tagore Nagar and Hariyalli Village area into a den of illegal constructions and I am told that even a cut of the money so collected is passed on to your office. I now demand your urgent inspection, enquiry and action pertaining to these ongoing illegal constructions that have been mushrooming up after the retirement of Mhaske. While I spoke to the concerned officials I was asked about my interference in the matter and also offered to settle the dispute if any by way of bribe. I was told that several reporters do collect money from these officials. If that is so, may you please draft a report and submit to the authorities so that those having connivance may be brought on record. Expecting your prompt action.  Engineers at Building & Factory Department "S" ward namely Mr.Sadhwani and Mr.Bhatia were reluctant to take action after my complaint and offered me a cut not writing to higher ups. They also said that the part of the money is paid to their Bosses so it is no use making complaints and I should meet them for amicable settlements. Action awaited
