 Alli Shramik Nagar, Ali Dada Estate zopadpatti was set on fire in Novembe r/December 2007 and around 339 hutments were burnt in the vicinity. The hutments have been reconstructed now. One Smt. Shamim Agwan, NCP women activist, had two huts which were gutted. Now she is constructing 4 huts with extended areas and heights after bribing municipal officials. Some residents of the area had come to me as she has encroached into their huts and have widened her own huts which she is giving on rent and not using for herself. She was earlier under scanner and chapter proceedings were initiated against her for acting as slum lord. She has now again started her hutments grabbing after the fire incidence. Locals fear to complain to the authorities as all are poor and she gives bribes to police and municiapal staff. Submitted for action

 Your Suggestion for a Solution

 Action should be taken for protection of the poor residing there. Initiate proceedings under the slumlords and land grabbing offences against the offender. As she is not using the huts for her personal use and earns money on it, should be punished. Besides that she is acting as a women activist of a political party.
