Home Grown Technology

TIFAC has refocused the earlier Programme Home Grown Technology now towards supporting Innovative Technologies of India. Under this programme financial support is extended to R&D Institutes & Academia and also to SMEs and Start up companies for supporting highly innovative technologies, which carry high risk, are at a pre commercial stage and have significant market potential. The support would be towards up scaling to prove and demonstrate their viability at a larger scale so as to generate Industry confidence.

Project Proposals are invited under two categories: Publicly funded R&D Institutes, Academia & Universities and Start up Companies and SME’s.

Publicly Funded R&D Institutions/Academia, Universities - The project cost should not exceed One and half Crores. TIFAC will provide, in instalments, grants to R&D Institutes or Academia under the programme – ranging from 50% to 80% (maximum) of project cost, with the remainder of the funds coming from an industry partner / user organization.
Start Up Companies/ SMEs - The project cost should not exceed Rupees Eighty lacs. Grants would be extended by TIFAC to Start Up Company / SMEs under the programme upto a maximum of 50% of the project cost. Remainder of the funds should come from Start Up Companies / SMEs.

In the first year, a maximum of upto six projects would be supported.

The proposal to be sent in a double sealed cover and superscribed with "Confidential – Proposal: HGT". The application duly signed and complete in all respects should reach the address given below within one-month time from the date of publication.
