Central Rural Sanitation Programme

 
Objective of the scheme is to provide subsidy for construction of sanitary latrine to the beneficiaries of rural areas who are below poverty line. The amount has now been fixed for Rs. 3850/- for sqr.unit, out of which 80% (Rs.3080/-) is to be given as subsidy and 20% will be the beneficiary contribution.

Beneficiaries themselves may do construction work. They can make their own arrangements for construction and may either contribute their own/family labour or engage skilled labourers on their own. The latrine under CRSP will be constructed as per the standard plan. Subsidy amount will be released in installments based on the physical progress of the work.

Who are eligible?

All the persons coming under the below poverty line. Preference will be given to SC/ST families.

Time Frame: -

Persons below poverty line can approach Block Development Officer with application for grant of subsidy under the scheme. The BDO will arrange to inspect the proposed site of latrine construction within ten days. After inspection, work order will be issued within one week.
