With trucks accounting for a big share of traffic pileups and fatal accidents, the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways plans to make trucks safer vehicles---closed cargo sections and a comfortable cabin for the driver
 23.2% of the total road accidents are caused by trucks and other goods carriers. These vehicles are involved in 29.2 per cent of fatal accidents and these vehicles were responsible for 28.6 per cent of road deaths in 2006
