According to some of the studies 75% of the medical facilites in India are for 27% of urban population.. Around two third of Indian population still resides in rural areas. Even if rural areas have some access to public health care facility, they are still deprived of quality health care services. Though there has been many initiatives by Govt of India towards issues like woman and child health, family welfare etc but hardly any innovation have been there to take care of primary health needs. Though health care centers exists at some places, but there is a big shortfall of doctors. The reasons are obvious. Setting up health care centers involves significant infrastructural cost as well as the health care professionals does not find it rewarding to work in rural areas. Further travelling to rural areas and finding proper infrastructure is a big hassle.

TeleOPD is an initiative to address the neglected health needs of rural population. The initiative aims to build a self-sustainable model that improves access of quality health care to underserved crores in rural areas by proactively using latest technology.  Today because of IT revolution, we see internet technology reaching rural areas. This gives endless possibilities to use technology for benefit of people.

TeleOPD provide innovative solutions by making sure that any physician can provide consultation over internet sitting at home or anywhere in the world. TeleOPD provides complete solutions connecting the two ends together effectively.

Though many of the physician doctors wants to come forward and contribute for this social cause but are unable to do so because of unavailability of proper channels. TeleOPD provides that channel for physicians all over India. The whole  TeleOPD system is made so simple that it hardly needs any infrastructure from doctor other than a PC and broadband internet.
