Established in 1989, a partner organisation of ADD-UK. An active member of Disability Network in Bangalore. Networks with organisations like Spastics Societies and NIMHANS. Registration: Society; FCRA; 80G.


People with all categories of disabilities, especially children and women. NGOs involved in rural development, to extend our reach; campaigns on disability issues.

Works in partnership with 25 organisations in areas of policy and system development, training, communication, liasing with government and NGOs and general support. Runs three direct projects in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to enable persons with disabilities to get rehabilitation services. Has set up 1,030 sanghas (self-help groups) with about 10,000 members in 1,792 villages; savings and credit scheme gives loans to persons with disabilities. Produces communication material like posters, videos and street theatre for use in training/ awareness activities; workshops for field staff and trainers in disability awareness, basic rehabilitation skills, counselling and communication. Involved in advocacy work to realise the rights of persons with disabilities. 


include a handbook on training; booklets on the features of Persons with Disabilities Act in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil.


To find organisations that work in areas, where such work is not taking place; train mid-level workers on managing disability programmes; strengthen federations of persons with disabilities; assist recently formed advocacy groups to establish themselves.
