It was observed during the testing that decibel levels
of nearly all samples tested exceeded maximum
permissible limits for manufacture (125dB) including
'light-based' crackers. It was also observed that, in
contravention of the Supreme Court Order dated 18th
July 2006, none of the boxes were marked with
checmical composition of the crackers contained in
them. Decibel levels were also not specified. Date of
manufacture was not available although expiry date was
printed.

We intend to write tothe autorities includign the
Department of Explosives, the Government and the
Police to confiscate any firecrackers being
manufactured or sold in contravention of the Supreme
Court Order.
