Yuva Parivartan

Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA), a 77-year-old NGO founded by Shri B.G Kher-a Gandhian and Premier of Bombay Presidency in 1928. In 1998, KSWA started a movement called “Yuva Parivartan” (YP), which means ‘Transformation of Youth’. This Movement seeks to bring unmotivated dropouts to the center and influences them to learn skill leading to income generation and economic independence. At present courses conducted are Motor Mechanics, Air conditioning and Refrigeration, Electrical Wireman, Motor Driving, Nursing, Beautician, Mehendi, Entrepreneurship and Hospitality. During the training students are taught life skills like English Speaking and Basic Computers and are motivated to participate in sports under the guidance of our full time sports teacher. After the training students are assisted in placement through our industrial partners like Blue star, Eureka Forbes, Sah and Sanghi and British Gas.

Currently we have 7 centres all over Mumbai namely Bandra (Main Centre), Jogeshwari, Khopoli, Vasai, Wadala, Kalyan and Thane.  We also work in the Vocational Training space with Special Vulnerable Groups such as running a joint project with Mumbai Police Rehabilitation of First Time Offenders, Rehabilitation of Cancer Patients and are also considering the inclusion of drug addicts, rag pickers, children of sex workers etc.

We have a number of activities planned for the whole year in which our Yuva Parivartan students and members wears T-shirts with donors name printed on it. So with the growing number of centres and activities we now have a requirement for another 100 T-shirts that will be used in the activities throughout the year, out of which few are listed below.

·         In Mumbai Marathon that is scheduled in the month of January, a large group of Yuva Parivartan members along with Staff, Trustee and Member of Advisory Board will be running for their dream wearing Yuva Parivartan T-shirts and Caps.

·         Our Annual Sports are planned in the month of February and we expect a large group of participants from among our students as well as other community members. Along with athletics, there will be contests in high jump, long jump, javelin throw, shot put etc. as also some games like volleyball and basketball.

·         Our Career Fair is scheduled for the month of April. We expect over 3000 visitors and all volunteers at the time of Career Fair will be wearing the Yuva Parivartan T-shirts as they guide the visitors around. This is a yearly event, with the triple objectives of spreading awareness of job opportunities in the newer sectors of the economy, career guidance and counseling and a Job Mela to make available jobs to visitors.

The total cost of T-shirts is Rs. 5750/- & the cost of printing is Rs.1250/- for 100 T-shirts. We would be grateful if your club can sponsor these 100 T-shirts at a total cost of Rs. 7000/-.

We are confident that the above events will help spread the Yuva Parivartan movement and create awareness about our work and have good coverage in the press and the other media.

We hope for a positive response from you and look forward to your support.
