NGO SJOIN HANDS AGAINST R&R
Many civil society movements have joined forces against the Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, 2007, and the Resettlement and Rehabilitation Bill, 2007, which are before the Parliament and could be debated any day. Movements and organisations like the National Alliance of People’s Movements, the Nadi Ghati Morcha Narmada Bachao Andolan, the Bhopal Gas Pidit Sangathan Delhi Solidarity Group, and several others, today began a 3-day demonstration in Delhi against the two Bills, which they said: “...will sanction displacement and loot of more and more land from the people for the profit of corporations and private investors”.
