The India NGO Award is an initiative of The Resource Alliance in partnership with The Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation. Launched in 2006, it seeks to acknowledge and felicitate organisations that are setting and promoting best practices in resource mobilisation, accountability and transparency.

 

Non Governmental Organisations from across the country are encouraged to send in their entries under one of the three categories based on their annual budget for 2006-7.

 

Categories

Small:               Annual budget under 50 lakhs

Medium:           Annual budget between Rs 50 lakhs and 10 crores

Large:               Annual budget over 10 crores

 

Criteria

Organisations will be evaluated on the effective and sustainable mobilisation of resources, the demonstration of efficient management of resources, good governance practices, transparency and accountability, and the impact of the services it provides to the community it aims to serve.

 

Benefits

One national winner will be announced in each of the three categories and will be presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 4,00,000/-.  Of the three winners one organisation will be selected as The NGO of the Year 2007 and will receive a citation and additional cash prize of Rs 2,00,000/-. Profiles of the national and regional finalists will be published in a casebook, which will be distributed across the country.
