The Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhani (MSDS) annually gives away the prestigious Sadguru Gnanananda National Awards to Women for Excellence in Social Work from all over India.

"Manava Seva is MadhavaSeva"

About the Sadguru Gnanananda Awards

Sadguru Gnanananda was a paramahamsa parivrjaka acharya, a wandering monk teacher par excellence. He believed that when we bring light, darkness would dissolve on its own, and felt that when social work is done with great joy and compassion, we could see the signature if God in such acts. This being the guiding philosopy of Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhani (MSDS), the awards are named after the great master, Sadguru Gnanananda of Tapovanam, Tamil Nadu.

MSDS identifies and acclaims women who are agents of social change; who take up the onerous task of serving fellow human beings especially women and children. These awards are not just a recognition but are a celebration of the great efforts of these women who are the bearers of the light that dispels darkness. They usher in hope and courage where there is depair, they are indeed entrepreneurs in spirit.

Till date MSDS has conferred the Sadguru Gnanananda National Awards on 60 women social entrepreneurs from all over India. The awards celebrations have been held in four metros - Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai.
