Marico Innovation Award

The awards aim to recognize the greatest innovations to come out of India in the recent past - innovations that have positively impacted our lives and have at their core a great idea coupled with a unique insight. The awards are a formal recognition of those who have innovated or had the courage to attempt to innovate, both in the business and social arena.

All Indian companies, social organizations and government bodies that have nurtured a brilliant idea & successfully implemented them were invited to apply for the Innovation for India Awards. The Awards call for nominations received a total of 206 entries. Out of these 105 entries are Innovations in Business Models/ products/ Services. And 101 entries are for Innovations in the social space, either by Social organizations or by Business organizations, but focused on social Impact. The response is very encouraging and highlights an interesting dynamics and indicates that innovation consciousness is growing deeper, moving away from just business concerns and into social, ecological impact.

The Innovation nominations received cut across several different industries – water purification, power solutions, paper manufacturing process, Hotels, Architectural Firms, Health solutions, commodity exchanges etc. This is a great indicator of the fact that the Innovation for India awards are attracting a wide spectrum of entries - not only the hard technology, product or IT companies entering these awards.

Marico Innovation Foundation has architected the awards to be truly agnostic to the industry, the innovator and the invention but instead to focus on the value of the innovation – Its uniqueness, its impact (to people, planet and to profit), and its ability to be scalable and sustainable. This process and architecture is unique and is complimented with an in-depth and in-context study of short listed candidates, to ensure that the most unique and impactful innovations surface to the top by our Knowledge Partner-Erehwon. This differentiates the India Innovation Awards in its depth and coverage.
