Notes - Niramaya Health Foundation (NHF) was formally founded in June 2001. Started with one agenda of children’s health initially, Niramaya now caters youth, both school going and school dropouts and women and Karigars working in Zari Industries through its various programs with a team of 10 dedicated doctors and over 50 motivated health workers. This way Niramaya reaches approx. 8-10 lakh underserved population living in slums of Mumbai Pune, Delhi, Surat and Rajsthan. • Integral to all NHF activities is an emphasis on creating awareness of the fact that health is a responsibility of an individual. Dr. Janaki Desai is the Honorary Medical Director of Niramaya Health Foundation.
