About us : In 1998, Mr Praveen Ohal, a young geology graduate started working on issues related to environment and animal protection with a few of his young friends. This key driving force of HOPE and Animal, embarked on an awareness and fundraising walk that should have taken him across Asia and Australia. He was supported by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Rotary Clubs. He succeeded in completing 90% of his journey but could not go beyond Singapore, where unable to find a donor who could provide the required sponsorship limit set as pre-entry criteria by Australian embassy at short notice, he ended his walk there. Mr Ohal walked the length and breadth of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. During the walk children in over 200 schools across these countries were sensitized on issues of environment and animal protection. He travelled without money.
