Salem Steel Plant has adopted Thirumalaigiri as a Model Steel Village in October 2006 in order to bring about overall development in the village under the CSR activities of SAIL. Around Rs.1crore have already been spent during the last two years in providing the following infrastructure facilities in the village. In addition, certificates and employment orders have been issued to the women tailoring trainees under women empowerment scheme of SAIL/Salem Steel Plant's Corporate Soical Responsibility initiatives. Executive Director B B Singh will inaugurate two overhead water tanks with a capacity of 1 lakh litres and 60, 000 litres at Thirumalaigiri today.
