This was an eventful month with our usual rescue stories and sterilization
programs for strays. This news letter  contains a brief up date on our
activities in the month of December. We are looking out for monthly donors
who can donate even small donations every month so that we can meet our

3.  ANTI-RABIES DRIVE IN DOMBIVLI - 22ND DECEMBER:

PAWS organized its monthly Anti-Rabies vaccination drive on 15th December
2006, in Dombivli West area at Devi Chowk & near theRailway Station. PAWS
volunteer Ram & his wife who feed and look after more than 40 stray dogs
and have also adopted a stray from the colony. PAWS Best Volunteers
Anahita & Sonali along with Lekhaand Nilesh participated in the camp. Over
45 strays were vaccinated within two  hours.If you wish to hold Anti

4. PAWS & ASHA CONDUCTED THEIR SECOND  DONKEY HEALTH CAMP:

Donkeys are  docile and neglected animals in India. Our 'Best Volunteer'
Shiv Prasad Phadke organized  this camp in his village  Pandharpur at
Solapur district a second time.  PAWS team drove its Ambulance which was
fully equipped with medicines,vets, first aid materials etc 390 kms from
Mumbai. Dr. Chetan Bhendale treated over 50 maggot-wound cases of donkeys,
goats,bullocks &  other working animals in area.

PAWS volunteers including Shivprasad,Rahul Pawar, Dr. Chetan,Nilesh and
Kishor worked relentless for four days. PAWS team also vaccinated over 150
working donkeys against Tetanus in two colonies.

We sincerely thank Brinda Upadhyaya, Fizzah Shah, Minal Dixit, Neela
Basuroy for their financial & moral support. We also thank ASHA -
Association for Service & Healing Animals for their continues to this Camp
for the second time.

During this camp a bullock got hit by a tractor near the river
Chandrabhaga and lay bleeding for a long time. PAWS vet Dr. Chetan & team
rushed to the spot and gave it first aid immediately.

6. APPEAL FOR FUNDS:

Your small contribution would make a big difference!  With two ambulances,
40 volunteers and two staff members and being in possession of an entire
animal rescue gear and medical kit, PAWS works tirelessly under the
leadership of  young Mr. Nilesh Bhanage & Ms. Anuradha Ramaswami. Anyone
