S. P. J. Sadhana  - Monthly Update – March 2007

The school was geared from 1st March t the end of the month – to share our educational technologies, therapies, pre-vocational and vocational skills with 5 Nigerian Professionals who were here for a month’s training, thanks to the Lions International Clubs. It was our outreach to Africa to empower the trainer to make a difference in every mentally challenged Nigerian child.

The Certification Ceremony was a solemn and dignified one, held at Blue Seas Banquets with Lion Ashok Mehta, Chairperson of Lions International Clubs, as Chief Guest, on 29th March 2007. The invitees were Counsels of different countries and important people from the city.

On 30th March 2007, the annual school concert this year, was a concert of dances, the finale being the Nigerians dancing with students and staff, was a fitting ending to a focused and empowering training.

“S. P. J. Sadhana School is practically oriented. Which makes learning so easy.”  Jackson Babatunde Willoughby

“Everyday in S. P. J. Sadhana is a new dawn of inspiring skills acquisition for the mentally challenged based on high sense of commitment exhibited by the management and staff keep me on the growing edge.” Lola Anibaba

“The organizational structure of S. P. J. Sadhana fascinates me and keeps the Dream for the mentally challenged alive in my heart.” Florence Adeyanju (Mrs.)

“From my experience in S. P. J. Sadhana, I could see that the sky is not the limit for the mentally challenged” Folake Durowoju (Mrs.)

“I came to S. P. J. Sadhana School with high expectations and today I can tell you that I’m not disappointed. The School curriculum is an holistic one that helps students maximize potentials into skills which makes the school unique. Long Live S. P. J. Sadhana School… Long Live India… Long Live Nigeria”  Hilda Twins (Mrs.)

They have left us, …hoping to make a difference. We know there has been a major shift in their thinking and they feel confident as it was a very practical training geared to their reality, which Radhike and I experienced on our visit in May 2006.
