India Fellow 2007
Calling all students in the age group of 16–23 to gear up and get ready for India Fellow 2007. Here’s your chance to make the most of your summer vacation, do something totally ‘hatke’, bring out the explorer in you and discover a reality you would otherwise see on TV.
So, if you think you’re up for a challenge, willing to rough it out a bit, ready to step out of your comfort zone, adventurous enough to explore the unknown, YET committed to making your summer vacation useful and memorable for more people than just yourself, then India Fellow is the programme for you.
It’s 6 weeks with a twist – no parents, no friends, mostly no TV, no flashing billboards, sometimes no electricity, no swanky skyscrapers, no fancy food, just REAL RURAL INDIA with real people living a real Indian life.
Apply now and join the 47-member strong team of India Fellows from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore who, since 2005, have been placed in the rural hinterlands of Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Karnataka working on diverse projects in the field of education, self help groups (SHG), healthcare, microfinance, child labour, watershed management, biogas, child rights, ecology, village dynamics, public distribution system, panchayat raj, village mapping and water conservation & purification.

NGO Speak
“Your volunteer team headed by Amit Tyagi (Tech Mahindra) visited Omashram-old age care. They had come in a large number with large goodies! Our inmates, though not many, were extremely happy with the fact so many youngsters visited them and spent quality time with them. It looked as if the old parents were united with children of the present generation. Congratulations to all of you for the volunteering being done. Keep it up and enjoy the little pleasures of life by giving little pleasures to the ones who need them.” - Geeta Shankar, Omashram, Bangalore
“Volunteer Usha Krishnamurthy has arranged to print and get an order for the greeting cards prepared by our Digha children. She has also sponsored the youngest child's education fees. Her contribution towards the cause has been fantastic and you can take credit that your volunteers have so far been better than the rest from other sources. Many thanks again for all your support and kindness.” - Reginald Pais (Reggie), Aasara, Mumbai

A Merry X’mas It Was
