*Professor Stathis Psillos is currently an Associate Professor in the Dept of Philosophy & History of Science in the University of Athens. After a Physics degree in the University of Patras, Greece, he was awarded, in 1989, a scholarship from the Greek State's Scholarship Foundation to study Philosophy. He obtained an MSc in History and Philosophy of Science in 1990 and then a PhD in Philosophy of Science in 1994 - both from King's College, London. Between 1995 and 1998 he was a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at the Philosophy Department of the London School of Economics. He has also been a visiting lecturer at King's College, London, in the academic year 1996-97. He returned to Greece in July 1998, spent a year doing military service in the Hellenic Navy, and took up the current post in Athens in June 1999.
Between 1993 and 1998 he was first Assistant Editor and subsequently Deputy Editor of the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science. During the academic year 1997-1998 he sat on the Committee of the British Society for the Philosophy of Science.
