Subject : Invitation to join mass movement against child labour by way of Gandhigiri on Sunday 07.01.2007 at 8:00 am at Dharmshila Cancer Hospital, vasundhara Enclave, Delhi - 110096

Dear friend

As you are aware of the fact that child domestic labour in homes, restaurants and other establishments etc. has been prohibited with effect from 10-10-2006 under the provisions of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 in the entire country.  However, nothing has been done in this regard by the Government and the same situation still prevails.  In these circumstances, it is imperative on the peoples’ groups to seek implementation of the amended provisions of law.

As a step in this direction, it has been decided to mobilize public opinion against child labour by Gandhigiri methodology.  It has been decided that on 07.01.2007, a minimum of 20 Lawyers in uniform and other social activists will gather at 8:00 in the morning in front of Dharmshila Cancer Hospital, Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi – 110096 and from there, they would proceed at 8.30am to Pavitra and other Apartments in Vasundhara Enclave area and meet the residents thereof by giving them greeting cards, handbills and badges advocating the eradication of the child labour. This event will end at 10.30am. 

We are sure that if you join with us in this movement, it will not only boost our morale but also strengthen mass movement against child labour.
