Jan 17: Mumbai : Invitation for Ehsaas - “Ability in Disabilty”

We, the DOCC team along with the participants of S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, a premier B-school of India, extend a warm invitation to you for Ehsaas.

The Center for Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC) is organizing this program at SPJIMR. DOCC is an opportunity for the students to help the local community face challenges. It endeavors to provide solutions that are beneficial to the organization concerned as well as the underprivileged sections.

The Concept - What do USA President Franklin Roosevelt, classical composer Ludwig Beethoven and Stephen Hawking have in common?
Yes, they were all famous, able people who excelled in their respective fields. They are Role models who have been looked up to for many years. Also, they were disabled. Yet this never kept them from realising their dreams. This is a message we would like to spread in our effort for including the differently abled into the mainstream of society.

On this note, the DOCC team would like to invite you to join us to celebrate “Ability in Disabilty” in Ehsaas 2007.

Ehsaas – as the word suggests, stands for ‘feeling’. The very aim of Ehsaas is to develop a sense of belonging in the minds of the immensely gifted, differently-abled youth of India. Ehsaas is an initiative, at a micro level, to try and involve differently-abled youth in mainstream life and showcase their talent and potential to the entire society. We hope to facilitate a network amongst the organizations working for this cause. We also want to deliberate on the issues that the differently-abled face and attempt to provide sustainable solutions for the same, especially related to employment, information and entertainment.

On 17th January 2007
On this day, we would like to invite you for an evening of performances like songs, dances and dramas by differently-abled persons interspersed with performances by our students.

We will also be organizing a fun fair, which will be a forum for interaction of the differently-abled with our participants. The event will involve representation and participation from various NGOs supporting such causes.

We would be very glad to have you with us. Please grace the event with your presence.

Regards,
Nirja Mattoo
Chairperson
