Post Graduate Diploma Course in Women’s Rights as Human Rights

beginning 15 January 2007.

Based on the model Women’s Rights Course developed by the RCWS, SNDT with Commonwealth Secretariat, London, it offers the following topics of enquiry –

Introduction to the Concepts of Women’s Rights;  Evolution of the Human Rights Discourse internationally and in India; Growth of Feminist Debates in the West and in India; International Instruments and National Framework for the realization of Women’s Rights; Legal Mechanisms for Protection;  Critical Examination of the Criminal Justice System from the Standpoint of Women’s Experiences; Campaigning for Change; Enhancing Women’s Equality through Affirmative Action Programmes; Skills to initiate change in the community.
