Jan 11: Mumbai : ACB meeting for M-PAC, Mumbai - Pact Against Corruption Background: a) M-PAC i.e. Mumbai - Pact Against Corruption, a community based initiative to fight corruption, was launched in November 2006 by the Anti Corruption Bureau along with the NGO Council b) The first introductory meeting that was held on 18th Nov. 2006. Minutes are at www.karmayog.org/anticorruption/anticorruption_1201.htm c) A second meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, January 11th, 2007, at 5 p.m. at the office of the Anti Corruption Bureau, Worli. d) This meeting is for those organisations / institutions who want to do something specific under M-PAC i.e. they have some specific ideas of what they would like to do / can do and want to discuss that with ACB so that it can be started off. (So all those interested in attending the meeting must necessarily give in advance, in writing, in brief about their idea, their own role, the role of ACB, resources that they can bring in and resources and support that they need, etc. This will enable ACB officers to think about it beforehand so that the meeting can be fruitful, effective and conclusive.) e) Please give your suggestions for an Action Plan for M-PAC for 12 months (Jan. – Dec. 2007). An example is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/karmayog/message/18451 f) Suggestions are very useful. One suggestion made last time by Ajit Shenoy was to have mobile vans stationed at various places. Proposed Agenda for the Meeting: 1. Discuss with each organisation the specific ideas that they want to implement. 2. Discuss suggestions received by email. 3. Finalise an Action Pland and discuss the next steps.
