Apart from deficiencies in terms of access to facilities, the operation and maintenance of infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) have emerged as an important mechanism over the last decade for enabling investments in infrastructure. Private sector can also bring much needed expertise, innovations and resources into public private partnerships on water in India. This plenary session would deliberate and discuss on: 1. How can public private partnerships in water help address Indian water problems? 2. What are the barriers and areas of concern for PPP projects? 3. How to engage all stakeholders in PPP projects? 4. What are the positive impacts of PPP projects? 5. How can government and corporate incentives spur private sector engagement in water sector?
