July 04: Chennai: Listing workshop

GiveIndia listing workshop on July 4, 2008 in Chennai

Here is an opportunity to be part of India's fast-growing online philanthrophy marketplace-GiveIndia!

We are conducting a listing workshop in CHENNAI on JULY 4, 2008, FRIDAY, to help NGOs get listed on www.GiveIndia.org.

(Note- Only 30 seats are available. Entry to the workshop is strictly on first come first serve basis. There is no participation fee. Preferably, the head of the NGO or a senior person along with the accountant should attend the workshop.)

What is GiveIndia?

GiveIndia is a professionally managed Indian nonprofit organisation dedicated to promote a "giving culture" in India. We work to promote accountability and transparency in the functioning of the NGO sector so as to increase flow of donations to credible NGOs.

Why get listed with GiveIndia?

Once your NGO is listed on the GiveIndia website, it will have:

1. The opportunity to raise funds from a large number of individuals, both within India and abroad. We reach out to over fifty thousand donors all over the world.

2. Inclusion in all of GiveIndia's fund raising activities, such as Payroll Giving, the Mumbai and Delhi Marathon.

3. The ability to showcase a significant amount of information to a wide variety of donors across the globe.

4. GiveIndia recommends its listed NGOs to Corporates, Foundations and High Net worth Individuals for partnerships before seeking out other NGO partners, if required.

What you pay?

· First time Fee of Rs 7500 to be screened and listed on our site

· Annual renewal fee of Rs 5000 to renew membership.

What now?

Please read through the checklist of minimum eligibility requirements. If you fulfil these and are interested in getting listed with us, please attend our listing workshop in Chennai on July 4. If you are not currently eligible for listing, we encourage you to begin the process and to contact us again in the future. Minimum Eligibility Requirements

1. You are registered as a Trust/Society/Sec. 25 Company

2. Your organisation has been in existence for a minimum of 1 year from date of registration.

3. The address given by the organization is physically verifiable

4. You are registered under Sec.12A of Income Tax Act. (If you are not sure, please confirm with your Chartered Accountant)

5. You have filed your returns for the year 2006 - 2007. (Income Tax, FCRA and other statutory bodies)

6. A minimum of 50 percent of your beneficiaries are poor people (family income < Rs 3000 per month for economically disadvantaged people and family income < Rs 7000 per month for those who are disadvantaged in other ways-disabled, etc.)

7. You are unbiased in your beneficiary selection

8. Your organisation is non-political

9. Your organisation uses all its funds towards non-religious purposes

10. You are willing to create specific donation options and to provide individual feedback to donors (sponsor a child, help build a community centre, etc.)
