To succeed in business in today's competitive world, one needs to understand the environment in which businesses function. Also, it is critical to identify opportunities, challenges and threats to act upon them. This is no exception for social entrepreneurs who are talented, creative and have a flair for service. They recognize social problems and combine the entrepreneurial principles with social and ethical principles to bring social change.

Realizing the growth of the social sector and the emergence of social entrepreneurs in India, CSIM has designed a unique course called "Social Entrepreneurship Outlook Program (SEOP)"

All about the course:

SEOP is a four-month weekend course for passionate people who manage, work in or plan to start a non-profit or social venture. Participants get an opportunity to meet Ashoka Fellows who have applied business skills in running a non-profit. Case studies and films of social entrepreneurs are screened for better understanding. Participants have the opportunity to interact with social entrepreneurs / experts from the areas of education, health, economic development, human rights, environment, livelihood etc. To encourage better participation, field visits to select social enterprises are organized. Experienced faculty from the social entrepreneurship field will facilitate the sessions. A variety of methodology is adopted to make the participants explore and understand the concept of Social Entrepreneurship.

By the end of the course, participants' intellectual thinking would have widened. This will help them to tackle social issues better.

Who is Eligible?

Chief functionaries and second line leaders from non-profits, executives from corporates, social science research students, academicians from social work, business and economics departments and others who have interest for social entrepreneurship.
