PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGEMENT - ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT The information is pertaining to the launch of our countries first "Leadership in Public Health Management" certificate course by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, AVNI, MGIMS, KEM Mumbai and International partners. Admissions Open for "Leadership In Public Health Management" certificate program. This program is now offered in two structures, a WEEKEND course, which will be held over full teaching days on Saturday, and half days on Sundays during the period June 08 - January 09 and the REGULAR PART TIME course, which will be spread over 24 weeks during the period July-Dec 08. The course is certified & approved by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, South Asia Public Health Leadership Institute at Avni Health Foundation, Dr. S. Nayar School of Public Health (Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences), Seth G.S Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai and technically supported by Sparkman Center for Global Health, School of Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA and Vanderbilt University Institute for Global Health, School of Medicine, USA. This unique program accepts graduates* and equips candidates with the management skills and leadership required to design, plan, manage and oversee public health programs in addition to building technical capacity on public health issues. Considering that there is no dearth of resources but poor health systems management and limited accountability channels the course is designed to create leaders who can take on the systemic public health challenges that face the country. Last date for accepting applications for the weekend course is 20th May 08 and for the part time course it is 2nd June 08.
