Dear Friends, As you may know Karnataka Election Watch 2008 is having a Press Conference for Phase 1 elections at 12.30 pm on Tuesday May 6, 2008 at the Press Club in Bangalore. Please see the attached documents that we have compiled. Please do consider having press conferences of your own in your districts on May 6 or as soon as possible- the day of polling for phase 1 is May 10, 2008. The Press note contains a summary. You will find details of all candidates in the attached documents. You will also perhaps notice that the level of criminalization has come down a little bit compared to 2004. We have two special files comparing the financial and criminal records between 2004 and 2008 elections. We also welcome feedback you may have on the enclosed documents so that we can improve our work. Please do not release any information today as our press conference is tomorrow.
