CRBiz along with Lead India is organising a two day workshop on
Corporate Social Responsibility in New Delhi
.

Content of the workshop is as follows :

Understanding Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR Essentials
Two Day Intensive Programme For
Corporate Social Responsibility
Organised By: CRBiz & Lead India

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is currently a hot issue in
India. Awareness levels have grown and the pressure for companies to
get involved has increased. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's recent
address at the Annual Meeting of CII which laid stress on the need for
Corporates in India to pay greater heed to Corporate Social
Responsibility has stimulated deep thinking among Corporate heads
about their social responsibilities.

Corporate Social Responsibility has now become an integral part of
good management in India and abroad. Corporates, big and small,
national and transnational are making efforts to earn customer loyalty
through community development schemes, good corporate governance and
by engaging stakeholders, within and outside the company. It is
therefore necessary that managements at all level understand the scope
and content of corporate responsibility so that they can make value
added contributions towards building the company's brand image and
reputation.

CSR is not just about building schools or providing scholarships. It
is about doing business that companies do not regard as being an
obligation. CSR is an extension of efforts to foster strong corporate
governance. It is about ensuring sustainability of business. This
event aims to equip the participants with proven strategies to
maximise returns on social investments through ethical business
practices to enhance the company's bottom line.

This two day programme is an introduction to Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR). Participants will be guided through the
fundamentals of CSR, starting from Gandhi's theory of Trusteeship,
examining the development of Corporate Social Responsibility in the
context of India and South Asia. Using case studies and practical
examples participants will be provided an understanding of the basics
of CSR. To bring about partnerships between civil society and
Corporates an NGO Market Place is being organised during the two day meet.

This programme has been designed for management personnel in large
corporates, SMEs and NGOs working at various levels, CSR managers,
NGOs engaging with the business sector, representatives of business
associations, professional accountants, lawyers, consultants and
anyone interested in raising their awareness and knowledge level about
the issues and best practices involved with CSR. The focus will be on
identifying CSR issues and dealing with them in an effective and
transparent manner.

The course will highlight the benefits of engaging with social and
environmental issues, involving staff and other stakeholders. Case
studies and examples of best practices in CSR will be examined.  The
main focus will be on India but we will also take a look at CSR in the
wider Asian region and also learn how foreign companies view CSR. The
central theme will examine how to build better business in India
through CSR. Our aim is to equip participants with the necessary
knowledge, skills and tools to develop strategies for sustainable
development and corporate social responsibility in their
organizations.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will have:
An understanding of the content and scope of Corporate Social Responsibility
The understanding and tools to participate actively in the corporate
social responsibility projects of the company
The skills to provide guidance in the development and implementation
of corporate responsibility projects for the company

NGOs seeking such funds and services. Such a market place is being
organised by CRBiz-Lead India as part of the proposed workshop, CSR
Essentials. The Market Place will be held on the second day of the
workshop covering the entire post lunch session extending to about 4

Agencies and NGOs will make presentations about their activities. This
session will provide the NGOs an opportunity to present the new
proposal they intend to take up and seek the necessary

The second session will allow the participants an opportunity to
discuss their proposals one to one with each other. Interested
Corporates/Funding Agencies and NGOs will get an opportunity to sit
across the table and discuss the possibilities of funding/services and
