CSR activities:

CPCL has played a pioneering role in the area of Occupational Health Services (OHS), in the oil industry. CPCL is committed to improving the working conditions of employees and promoting their health. A center for OHS - a unique service conforming to ILO guidelines, functions at CPCL's Manali refinery. This center provides services in occupational medicine, occupational hygiene and toxicology. It not only serves CPCL's employees and their families, but also the neighbouring industrial units.
The comprehensive health programmes at the center include: modification of stressful working conditions, periodic health examination of employees and health screening of employees for early evidence of asymptotic illnesses namely; hypertension, diabetes mellitus, etc., nutrition & weight control, drugs & alcohol abuse prevention, smoking cessation, stress management and health education & information.

Company accords top priority to Safety, Health and Environment (SHE), not as a matter of mere statutory compliance, but as a matter of commitment and dedication to the well being of those working within the refining precinct and also in its neighborhood. The Company recorded 3.08 million accident-free manhours as on 31st July 2006. company is committed to implement best safety practices, including safety education and training.

Company has won several accolades and awards for pursuing various environmental conservation measures. One such award given for the year 2005 was "Green Tech Environment Excellence Gold Award" for outstanding achievement in Environment Management in petroleum sector for the year 2005. It would be significant to mention that our Company, in its pursuit of alternate fuels, has initiated cultivation of Jatropha Curcas in about 60 acres of vacant land inside Cauvery Basin Refinery for the production of Bio-diesel. Further cultivation of this crop in about 110 acres of vacant land near Manali refinery is also proposed.
