1.. Sainiks, Agriculturists and Intellectuals Society for Total Agrarian Rural Reforms (Sai Star) are a charitable NGO dedicated to improve the quality of life of Rural population in Remote villages. The Society is mainly devoted to Rural Development, Promotion of Youth Activities and Adventure Sports, Healthcare, Environment up-gradation, empowerment of Women , Children; Welfare of Ex-servicemen & Widows.
Objectives; (a) Improve Quality of life of Rural Population.
(b) Sustainable Agriculture Development.
(c) Environment Up-gradation and Ecology Literacy.

(h) Healthcare, AIDS Awareness and Disease Prevention.
(i) Promotion of Youth Activities, Cultural and Vocational Training.
(j) Promotion of Adventure and Sports activities.
(k) To Co-operate with other NGOs and Government Agencies for achieving the objectives.
J&K STATE & AREA OF APPLICATION
The state of Jammu & Kashmir has a geographical area of 2.22 Lakhs square Kilometers which is 6.93 percent of total Indian Territory. Out of total area Ladakh covers 70%, Jammu 19% and Kashmir 11%. As per 2001 census population of the state is one crore and seventy thousands; population density per square kilometer is 99 and 75 per cent of the people live in Rural Areas.There are 30 Districts, 6758 Villages and 2700 Panchayats. J&K SAI STAR Society has undertaken Rural Development work in most backward areas of Rajouri, Udhampur and Kathua districts of Jammu Division of the State.
PROJECTS IN HAND
Rural Healthcare
Sainik Augmented MI Room (Dispensary).
(a) As part of Rural Health Care Mission a Charitable Dispensary has been established at KM 67, Dhar – Udhampur Road, which is providing Medical Aid to Rural people, ex-servicemen and widows. A Lady Doctor with Nursing Staff is working in the M I Room. Medical Aid including free medicines is provided to needy people in the OPD. Patients requiring detailed investigation and specialized treatment are sent to ECHS Centers/ District Hospitals at Samba, Jammu and Udhampur. An Ambulance is being provided to the patients for this purpose by the Society.
(b) TIANSHI Health-care Club. This focuses on improving health status of Poor families through promotion of safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation, immunization, mother and child health care. The use of traditional health practices with wide range of homegrown herbs and use of Alternative medicines for better health is propagated to the rural peoples. Awareness about AIDS, communicable diseases and other preventive care are also being popularized. Medical Camps were organized at Ramkot, Khoon, Nagrota Gujroo, Nagrota Gujroo and Bhadu with help from Army Sadhbavana Project.
Rural Development & Environment
(a) Rain and Roof Top Water Harvesting and Check Dam has been Constructed at VillageBabey, Tehsil Ram Nagar. (b) Project ‘BAROS’ – Plantation of Fruit and Medicine Plants in Ramnagar and Billawar Tehsils and planting of Bio-Diesel Plant Jatropha has been done. An Environmental Park has been made at KM 72 on Dhar Road by the Society.
Education
(a) The Society provides Educational Guidance and scholarships to needy students in Rural Schools. Also constructed two Class Rooms and other facilities at Govt School Babey with Army Sadhbhavabna
(b) Sainik Stare Public School, Balpur, Nakki, Dhar-Udhampur Roadand Sainik Star Public School, Preet Nagar, Digiana, Jammu, has sponsored the Society, which provide quality education to rural children.
Sainik Self-Help Line. A center for welfare of ex-servicemen and widows.
J&K Youth Star. Youth STAR (Self-help Total Activities for Rural reforms) It provides platform for Rural Youth for Social Service, Community development and adventure sports to make it a potent force in rural development.
