A: Details of the problem
1.Problem: Water harvesting
2. Period: 2010 - February
3. Details: Water problems in mumbai need not be elaborated. If we ( mumbaikars) dont change our thought process towards water conservation techniques like rain water harvesting etc , we will face "water -wars" very soon. The precursor of the same is seen every day in form of "water - mafias " .
 
4. Additional information: Nil
5. Steps taken till now:
 No staeps taken as of now. Am in a stage of searching for relevant required help on the subject.
 
6. Result:
 none as yet. But if set up , it will save considerable amount of water for mumbai , and also stop excessive flooding to a large extend.
 
7. Help needed now:
 Wanted to know the procedures from professionals for initiating a project on rain water harvesting . Intend to initate this project and seeking help /contact details of profesional bodies.

2. For NGOs: NGOs must percolate necessary information to generate awareness on benefits of rain water harvesting.
 
3. For Government: All old planned colonies in mumbai ( Govt / pvt) must initiate steps for setting up rain water harvesting , in order to save mumbai from water mafias, water cuts or excessive flooding.
