Since 1939 the Bangalore Corporation was killing 160 Dogs every day in the fond hope of eradicating Rabies and eliminating Street Dogs.

Animal Rights Fund was instrumental in campaigning with the Bangalore City Corporation on issues concerning dog welfare, Animal Birth Control (ABC) Programme and on May 21, 1999 the Bangalore City Corporation took the Historic step of completely stopping killing of street dogs and totally replacing it with ABC Programme.

Since inception Animal Rights Fund has grown from strength to strength, making tremendous progress in a brief span of time.

From 50 ABCs per month in 1999 to 900 ABCs per month in 2006.
