Cop caught taking bribe
Mumbai: Sub-inspector Damodar Pawar attached to the Goregaon police station was caught red handed by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,500 from a businessman on Saturday. Pawar became the 15th policeman to be trapped by the ACB this year. He will be produced before the special holiday court on Saturday.
According to the ACB, the complainant Sanjay Gaikwad had a civil dispute with his neighbours at Jawahar Nagar in Goregaon. Gaikwad's opponents had filed a complaint with the Goregaon police station. Though it was a civil dispute, Pawar intervened and brought a settlement between the two. After the settlement, Pawar demanded money. Gaikwad refused to pay and approached the ACB. TNN
