2 officials of Cidco held for taking bribe
Navi Mumbai: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two officials of the City Industrial and Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (Cidco) on Thursday for demanding a bribe of Rs 75,000 from a developer to clear his property related files.
The accused have been identified as M D Sonawane and P R Patil from the Land Section of Cidco. They were trapped red-handed accepting the bribe amount inside the Cidco head-office in Belapur.
While Sonawane, a land surveyor, had demanded Rs 50,000 from J K Constructions for demarcating its plot and clearing the map, office assistant Patil demanded an additional Rs 25,000 for moving the letter of clearance and agreement.
The Kharghar-based developer then contacted the ACB (Thane) to trap them. TNN
