| Notes - The name of the organization : Village Services Trust A brief description , including where it works , and its past and current activities VST is a nonprofit, non-governmental volutary social service organization formed in the year 1997. It was formally registered on 28th of August 1997. Our organization is also registered under the Home Ministry of India under the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act of 1976 ( FCRA ) on May 25-2001. Village Services Trust has a Board of Directors. There are 7 members in this Board. The mission of VST is to strive for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized communities with stress on Women and Children in difficult circumstances through the participation of the Community . The objectives of VST is to create a just society where everybody enjoys full freedom and equality. Where it works : All the activities are carried out 72 villages of Nilakottai and Dindigul Taluk of Dindigul Dt. Tamil Nadu State . Past and Current activities Our organization mainly aims at sustainability in implementation of various activities. Therefore all the following activies are carried out continuously and it is ongoing : Past activities : Value education to Children and Youths •Running Day Care Centres •Awareness programmes on HIV / AIDS •Development of Farm & Non-farm sectors •Rehabilitation of Persons with Disability •Implementation of Tribal Development Programme . •Empowerment of Women Development activities. Micocredits, microenterprise, awareness generation, women education, Mother and child Health. Current activities : •Continuous support for Dalit Women’s empowerment Children’s education , Day Care Centres Nonformal Education Centres for street children and working children Rehabilitation of Street Children and Tsunami Victims Community Based Prevention of malnutrition & Rural Health Center Agriculture Extension activities Vocational Training programmes for Rural Youth. Care of Disabled Persons |
