| Comments: Railway Medical Department is supposedto provide cash less medical attendance &treatment to 14.5 lakhs serving employees &their families and to 5.6 lacs of retired employees & their dependents under RELHS 97 Scheme .But the department is riddled withdeep corruption at all levels Even in chronic &serious cases process is not hassle free Doctors expect patients to meet them at their ressidence to grease their palms for availing referral facility (ie for reference to Rly recognized speciality hospitals)and for local purchase medicines |
